Transly is an Android application that uses your device's Accessibility Services to read text displayed on screen within WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business, and translates that text using Google's ML Kit on-device translation library.
We collect no data. Specifically:
All translation is performed locally on your device using Google ML Kit. The language models are downloaded once from Google's servers when you select a language (approximately 30 MB per language). After that download, translation works entirely offline with no network requests.
The only network requests Transly makes are:
Transly uses Android's Accessibility Services to read text displayed on screen. This permission is used solely to identify text in WhatsApp messages so they can be translated. This data never leaves your device. We are technically incapable of receiving this data because we have no server endpoint to receive it.
When you activate Transly with your licence key, the app makes a one-time request to Gumroad's licence verification API to confirm the key is valid. This request contains only your licence key and our product identifier. No message content or personal information is included. After activation, Transly works offline permanently.
Transly uses Google ML Kit for on-device translation. Google's privacy policy applies to the ML Kit library. We use Gumroad for payment processing and licence key management. Gumroad's privacy policy applies to your purchase transaction.
We do not use any advertising networks, analytics platforms, or other third-party data processors.
Transly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
If we make changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated via our website.
